As part of the project, Olympic media villages are also be built at heights of 540 and 960 meters, to include hotels of three-star category and upwards, with over 2,150 rooms (1,050 rooms at a height of 540 meters and 1,100 rooms at a height of 960 meters), totalling over 150,000 square meters of floor space, and on-site service facilities: a shopping-cum-entertainment and a sports centre, a water park, tennis courts, restaurants, offices, car parks, a clinic, administrative buildings, traffic control centres and so on.

While the 2014 Winter Olympics are under way, over 2,000 journalists will be working here covering the progress of events. The media village provides all the facilities necessary for a comfortable stay, work and relaxation, including restaurants, a retail-cum-entertainment and a sports centre, a clinic, a car park and so on. The mainstay of the accommodation is hotels of three-star standard and above.

The media village complex at a height of 960 metres provides its guests with the opportunity to work hard and play hard on the slopes of Aigba ridge, surrounded by virgin forest. The design of the buildings making up the complex is intended to blend them perfectly into the landscape. The combination of a superb natural setting and picturesque landscapes with modern design and construction technology makes the media village at the Mountain Carousel a unique project.

The architecture of the complex

The total stock of rooms in the hotels measures 100,000 square meters and is housed in three to four storey buildings. The dimensions and internal layout of the rooms in the various categories correspond to current standards in the European hospitality industry. Thanks to the varying number of storeys and the location of the buildings, all the hotel guests have a picturesque view of the mountain slopes.

The multi-level flats of 200 square meters and above in size all have their own garages and gardens. The blocks of serviced apartments are designed as three and four storey buildings, each one with its own car park.

Modern, comfortable chalets of various types of 200 to 800 square meters in size are located on the mountain slopes at heights of 540 to 960 meters. The chalet buildings are designed in such a way that extensive use is to be made in their construction of naturally produced materials, including wood. Each chalet has its own garage or outside parking space. Some of the types of houses, located at a height of 960 meters, will have private access to the pistes.
