The core of the development of the leisure infrastructure of the area and the capital of the 2014 Winter Olympics is the city of Sochi, the pearl of Russia’s Black Sea coast, one of the country’s largest holiday resorts, which is visited by 3 million tourists every year. The Krasnaya Polyana district is the only area of ski resorts in Russia located in subtropical climes and in direct proximity of the Black Sea. The area is part of the Sochi National Park. And yet Krasnaya Polyana is just 40 kilometres away from the Black Sea coast and Sochi International Airport. Regular flights linking Sochi with Moscow and major European and Asian cities make the Krasnaya Polyana region one of the best located resorts in Russia in terms of logistics.
